Winemaker's notes:
Pomorie (with the ancient name Anhialo) is a famous vine-growing and wine-producing centre situated at the Southeast part of the territory of Bulgaria, on the Black Sea coast. Vine-growing and wine-producing are the main means of livelihood of the inhabitants of Pomorie since most ancient times. The first settlers - the Thracians, along with barley, rye, millet and flax had grown vines to produce wine. They had worshiped in a special way the god of wine and gaiety Dionysus. An embossed plate (consecration plate) has been found from this period, at present in the Hermitage collection, depicting a woman over wine press holding a grape cluster and a caption reading that Avludsena presents gift to god Apollon "for her salvation and for the salvation of her vineyard situated on top of the hill".
